DESCRIPTION
LIONESS ON KOPJE is a fine art print from the WILDLIFE collection.
The image is a portrait of a female lion (Panthera leo), photographed in the Serengeti National Park in 2006. Lions can often be found at kopjes, granite islands in the vast grasslands of the endless plains of the Serengeti. Kopjes are refuges for life for many animals, they rest there, use it as a lookout and give birth there. Female lions also like to seek the protection of these stone formations to give birth to their cubs.
