Working is so much more fun with the best brands. For this, I opt for ease of use, quality and durability. I have been working with Nikon and Gitzo for 35 years and I have been using various Think Tank bags and backpacks for years now. Since 2021 I use NiSi filters.

NISI

GITZO
My first Gitzo was an aluminium, a used one. Now I’ve had a newly bought carbon Mountaineer for almost twenty years, three-piece, I don’t even know what type anymore. Indestructible.

NIKON
In 1985 I bought my first Nikon, a used FE. My first Nikon lenses were a f/2.8 28 mm, f/1.4 50 mm, f/2.8 135 mm, f/4 105 mm Micro and a f/5.6 400 mm, all of them used. A used FE2 followed and I traded the FE for another FE2. I still have both cameras and lenses. Even now I find the FE2 the most comfortable to hold. Coincidentally or perhaps not coincidentally, it is almost the same size as the new mirrorless cameras from the Z6 and Z7 series.
When I became a professional photographer in 1996/97, I had to be able to rely on my equipment one hundred percent. Nikon has never let me down and has more than proven its reliability. But the appearance has also appealed to me enormously since those first years, for that reason alone I have always remained loyal to Nikon. They are simply beautiful cameras and lenses!
A Nikon Z50 camera is available for less than 900 euros, which is not expensive. If you search well for deals, you can have a Z50 with a 16-50 mm lens for 800 euros.
